4-Step Guide to Remove Watch Links
Simple 4-Step Guide to Remove Watch Links
1. Identify Which Links to Remove
-
Place your watch on a clean, flat surface.
-
Examine the bracelet carefully and decide which link(s) need to be removed for the perfect fit.
-
For balance, it’s recommended to remove an equal number of links from each side of the clasp.
2. Prepare the Watch Link Removal Tool
-
If not already assembled, insert the pointed end of the link removal tool into its handle.
-
Adjust the tool so the pin aligns precisely with one of the bracelet’s link pins.
-
Ensure the tool’s pin is positioned directly opposite the bracelet’s link pin.
3. Push Out the Link Pin
-
Slowly and gently apply pressure to the tool, pushing the link pin out of the bracelet.
-
Once the pin begins to move, carefully pull it out from the opposite side using your fingers or small pliers.
-
If the pin is difficult to remove, apply steady, controlled pressure — avoid forcing it to prevent damage.
4. Reassemble the Watch Band
-
After removing the required links, align the remaining links of the bracelet.
-
Insert the pin back through the links in the reverse direction it was removed.
-
Make sure the pin is securely in place and the links are properly aligned.
Extra Tips
-
Work in a bright, well-lit space for better visibility of small components.
-
Use a soft cloth or pad underneath the watch to prevent scratches.
-
Be patient and gentle throughout to avoid damaging the bracelet or pins.
