4-Step Guide to Remove Watch Links

Simple 4-Step Guide to Remove Watch Links

1. Identify Which Links to Remove

  • Place your watch on a clean, flat surface.

  • Examine the bracelet carefully and decide which link(s) need to be removed for the perfect fit.

  • For balance, it’s recommended to remove an equal number of links from each side of the clasp.

2. Prepare the Watch Link Removal Tool

  • If not already assembled, insert the pointed end of the link removal tool into its handle.

  • Adjust the tool so the pin aligns precisely with one of the bracelet’s link pins.

  • Ensure the tool’s pin is positioned directly opposite the bracelet’s link pin.

3. Push Out the Link Pin

  • Slowly and gently apply pressure to the tool, pushing the link pin out of the bracelet.

  • Once the pin begins to move, carefully pull it out from the opposite side using your fingers or small pliers.

  • If the pin is difficult to remove, apply steady, controlled pressure — avoid forcing it to prevent damage.

4. Reassemble the Watch Band

  • After removing the required links, align the remaining links of the bracelet.

  • Insert the pin back through the links in the reverse direction it was removed.

  • Make sure the pin is securely in place and the links are properly aligned.

Extra Tips

  • Work in a bright, well-lit space for better visibility of small components.

  • Use a soft cloth or pad underneath the watch to prevent scratches.

  • Be patient and gentle throughout to avoid damaging the bracelet or pins.

  • If you’re unsure, seek professional help from a trusted jeweller.
